Brave Bang Bravern! Teams Up with A Condition Called Love for Epic Collab Illustration

Although Brave Bang Bravern! has ended its broadcast, it’s giving the series taking over its timeslot, A Condition Called Love, the spotlight in an epic collaboration illustration between the two shows. 

A Condition Called Love premiered in Japan on April 4, 2024 and is streaming on Crunchyroll and Netflix in select territories.

Tomoe Makino (Aharen–san wa Hakarenai) is directing the anime series, with Hitomi Amamiya (Chillin’ in My 30s after Getting Fired from the Demon King’s Army) as series screenwriter and scriptwriter, Akiko Sato (Trigun Stampede co-character designer) as character designer, and yamazo (Encouragement of Climb: Next Summit) as music composer. East Fish Studio is in charge of the animation production for the series.

Meanwhile, the main voice cast includes:

  • • Chiaki Kobayashi as Saki Hanano
  • • Yurika Kubo as Hibiki Asami
  • • Maaya Sakamoto as Tsukiha Shibamura
  • • Ryohei Kimura as Sohei Yao

A Condition Called Love is based on Megumi Morino‘s romantic comedy manga, which began serialization in Kodansha’s Dessert on December 22, 2017. Fourteen tankobon volumes have been released as of November 2023, with a 15th volume due out on April 12, 2024.

Kodansha USA releases the manga series in English, describing the synopsis as:

Hotaru is a 16-year-old high school first-year who has always been ambivalent about love, preferring instead to have a lively life with her family and friends. So when she sees her schoolmate, Hananoi-kun, sitting in the snow after a messy, public breakup, she thinks nothing of offering to share her umbrella. But when he asks her out in the middle of her classroom the next day, she can’t help but feel that her life is about to change in a big way…

Brave Bang Bravern! is an original anime series that aired in Japan from January 11, 2024 to March 28, 2024 for a total of 12 episodes. 

Masami Oobari (Super Robot Taisen OG: The Inspector, Fatal Fury: The Motion Picture) directed the anime, with Keigo Koyanagi (The Rising of The Shield Hero) as screenwriter, Koichi Motomura (Yotsunoha, Anohana) as character designer, and Kamokamen (Wasureenu Majo no Monogatari) as original character designer. MORUGA, Junya Ishigaki, Kanata Suzuki, Rihiro Yamane, and Mizuki Sakura are serving as the mechanical designers. CygamesPictures is the animation production company for the anime.

In the future, humanity wages war with giant humanoid weapons called Titanostrides. Isami Ao of the Japan Ground Self-Defense Force and Lewis Smith of the United States Marine Corps meet on the battlefield in Oahu, Hawaii. An enemy aircraft attacks, scattering their forces. To survive the battle and save their friends, unlikely comrades must find the courage to defeat this new threat.
