Yen Press Licenses 10 New Manga & Novel Titles, The Three-Body Problem Manhua at Sakura-Con 2024

At its industry panel during Sakura-Con 2024, Yen Press announced the licensing and upcoming release of 10 new manga and light novel titles, as well as the manhua adaptation of the critically acclaimed The Three-Body Problem novel. 

The 10 newly licensed titles consist of six manga series and four light novel titles. Among the highlights include the Tougen Anki: Dark Demon of Paradise manga series, the Detroit: Become Human -Tokyo Stories- manga adaptation, and the 86—EIGHTY-SIX Alter light novel. 

The ten titles will be released in September 2024, while The Three-Body Problem manhua will be released at a later date. More details on the latter will be announced on Yen Press’ social media pages.

Yen Press announced that it will be releasing the North American print edition of The Three-Body Problem manhua comic — an adaptation of Cixin Liu’s award-winning science fiction novel. It is the first installment of Liu’s Remembrance of Earth’s Past trilogy, which was first released in China in 2008 and translated to English in 2014. 

The Three-Body Problem novel won the Galaxy Award in China, as well as the Hugo Award for its translated edition. It has been adapted into a Netflix original series that began streaming in March 2024 and a Bilibili original animated series in 2022

The manhua comic will be the second of Cixin Liu’s works published by Yen Press, with the first being the manga adaptation of his short story Taking Care of God, which was released in February 2024.

Synopsis
