Jellyfish Can’t Swim in the Night Previews Rie Takahashi’s Ex-Idol Character In New Trailer

Upcoming original anime Jellyfish Can’t Swim in the Night has received its second character trailer, which focuses on the former idol Kano Yamanouchi (Rie Takahashi). The strong-willed girl’s encounter with fellow main character Mahiru Kozuki (Miku Ito) helps to kick off the show’s story and inspire change in the latter.

Jellyfish Can’t Swim in the Night is set to begin airing on April 6 (effectively April 7 at 1 AM JST) in Japan and has been licensed by HIDIVE. The story will follow an anonymous artist group called JELEE, which includes Mahiru (an ex-illustrator with past trauma), Kano, a self-proclaimed “strongest” VTuber, and a mysterious composer who wants to support the person she is a fan of.

The anime is produced by Doga Kobo and directed by Ryohei Takeshita (Eromanga Sensei and Pokémon: Paldean Winds director).
