Rudeus and Sylphy’s Romance Takes Center Stage in Main Trailer for Mushoku Tensei Season 2 Cour 2

AnimeJapan 2024 saw the release of a main trailer for Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation Season 2 Cour 2, which features plenty of scenes for shippers of Rudeus and Syphiette (who are getting married) to enjoy. Supporting characters like Rudeus’ sisters, Ruijerd, Elinalise, and more also make appearances, and the ending song “Mamoritai Mono” by Yuiko Ohara gets previewed.

The second cour of Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation Season 2 is set to premiere on April 7. The first cour premiered on July 2 (effectively July 3 at 12 AM JST) in Japan. Crunchyroll, Muse Asia, and Bilibili streamed the show overseas. The Studio Bind-produced anime is based on the MF Books isekai light novel series written by Rifujin na Magonote and illustrated by Shirotaka, which started in 2014 and concluded in November 2022 with 26 volumes. Seven Seas describes the books as:

Kicked out by his family and wandering the streets, an unemployed 34-year-old shut-in thinks he’s hit rock-bottom—just as he’s hit and killed by a speeding truck! Awakening to find himself reborn as an infant in a world of swords and sorcery, but with the memories of his first life intact, Rudeus Greyrat is determined not to repeat his past mistakes. He’s going to make the most of this reincarnation as he sets off on the adventure of a second lifetime!

Mushoku Tensei started in 2012 as a Shousetsuka ni Narou web novel. The light novels have inspired a manga adaptation and multiple spin-offs. The light novel version of the Dasoku-hen spin-off released its first volume in June 2023.

The anime’s first season was released in 2021, and also aired with split cours. Season 1, Season 2 Cour 1, and Season 2 Cour 2 have different directors.
