The main characters of The Dangers in My Heart have proven to be dangerously sweet for voters’ hearts, as the Kyoutarou Ichikawa x Anna Yamada ship is the winner of our 10th Anime Trending Awards’s Best Couple/Ship of the Year award. The pairing earned 6,326 votes out of the 39,639 total, narrowly beating the Amane x Mahiru ship from The Angel Next Door Spoils Me Rotten (which had 6,223 votes).
When the first season of The Dangers in My Heart aired in Spring 2023, the contrast between the short (and initially edgy) loner and the tall, beaming, food-loving model proved charming enough to earn seventh place in the first Anime Trending Couple/Ship Top 10 Chart of the season (Week 3). By Week 7, Kyoutarou and Anna were the third most popular ship, and Week 9 saw them rising all the way to first place, where they stayed until the final Couple/Ship chart of the season (Week 11).
That momentum and streak hasn’t been lost (yet) with the show’s ongoing second season. Kyoutarou x Anna instantly grabbed the top spot in our Winter 2024 Week 3 Couple/Ship Top 10 Chart and have so far maintained their hold until Week 8. How long can they continue to hold on to that position? That’s for you to decide.
