Shadowverse Flame: Arc-hen Premieres April 13, Releases New PV Trailer

A new PV trailer has been released for the upcoming Shadowverse Flame: Arc-hen TV anime series, which will begin airing in Japan on April 13, 2024. 

The new trailer showcases the anime’s main characters and the interesting creatures involved in exciting battles. It also highlights the new opening theme “Do or Die” by Nano and new ending theme “HEAVY GAMER” by LIL LEAGUE

The first Shadowverse Flame anime series entered the “Seven Shadows” story arc last June and is the fifth overall cour of the series, which premiered in Japan in April 2022. The first 48-episode Shadowverse anime aired from April 2020 to March 2021. 

Keiichirou Kawaguchi (Higurashi: When They Cry: SOTSU) is directing the anime series, with Naotaka Hayashi (Kageki Shojo!! episode director) as assistant director, Rintarou Isozaki (Shadowverse) and Deko Akao (Komi Can’t Communicate) as series screenwriters, Ponzu (Shadowverse game card artist) as card art director, Hiroki Harada (Shadowverse) as character designer, and Yasunari Nitta as sub-character designer. ZEXCS is handling the animation production for the series. 

Gakuya Okada, Mikeboshi, Hesun, and Onineko are credited as the original character designers:

Meanwhile, the anime’s voice cast includes:

  • • Yuuto Uemura as Light Tenryuu
  • • Shiori Izawa as Dragneel
  • • Hibiku Yamamura as Itsuki Katsutagawa
  • • Kazuki Ura as Subaru Makabe

Shadowverse Flame: Arc-hen is inspired by Cygames’ Shadowverse digital collectible card game that first launched in 2016. The free-to-play game was released worldwide on iOS and Android devices in June 2016, and on desktops in October 2016.

Crunchyroll is currently streaming Shadowverse Flame, describing the series as: 

Light Tenryu came to Shadowverse College without knowing the first thing about Shadowverse and joined Seventh Flame, a Shadowverse club on the verge of being shut down. He falls in love with playing Shadowverse while working with his friends Subaru Makabe and Itsuki Mitsutagawa to find new club members.

He faces off in fierce battles against opponents using a wide array of cards, and finally succeeds in recruiting Gentleman, Ren Kazamatsuri, and Tsubasa Takanashi to his team. Now Seventh Flame is reborn, and he and his friends are challenged to enter the Shadowverse Club Tournament that will decide who’s the strongest of them all.
