The One Punch Man anime adaptation is returning with third season.

The director for the new season wasn’t revealed, but J.C.STAFF is returning from Season 2 as the animation production company. Also returning, from both Season 1 and 2, are series composer Tomohiro Suzuki, character designer Chikashi Kubota, and music composer Makoto Miyazaki. Kubota will be joined this time by Shinjirou Kuroda (Tsukimichi: Moonlit Fantasy Season 2 Episode 4 and 5 prop design assistant) and Ryosuke Shirakawa (Tsurune, Spy x Family Season 1, A Silent Voice key animator).

Makoto Furukawa and Hikaru Midorikawa are reprising their roles as Saitama and Garou, respectively. Daisuke Namikawa, who voiced Pig God in the previous seasons, will voice Doctor Genus.

One-Punch Man began as a self-published web manga by ONE in 2009. The Shueisha-published version by Yuusuke Murata, serialized on Tonari no Young Jump, began in 2012 and has been collected into 29 volumes as of November 2023. Viz Media describes the plot as:

Every time a promising villain appears, Saitama beats the snot out of ’em with one punch! Can he finally find an opponent who can go toe-to-toe with him and give his life some meaning? Or is he doomed to a life of superpowered boredom?

The 2015 first season of the anime was directed by Shingo Natsume and produced by Madhouse. 2019’s second season was directed by Chikara Sakurai
