A new Kaiju No.8 trailer has arisen, and it brings with it new footage of the Japan Defense Force’s struggles against kaiju and previews of the newly revealed theme songs.

Western artists YUNGBLUD and One Republic are the ones performing Kaiju No.8‘s themes. The former is singing the opening song “Abyss” while the latter is singing the ending song “Nobody.”

Also, it was revealed that the anime will begin streaming on Crunchyroll and the social media platform formerly known as Twitter (X) on April 13. Plus, Sembongi Sayaka has been announced as the voice of Konomi Okonogi.

Kaiju No.8 adapts the Shueisha-published manga by Naoya Matsumoto, which debuted in 2020 on Shonen Jump+ and has 11 tankoubon volumes as of November 2023. VIZ Media describes the manga as:

Kafka hopes to one day keep his pact with his childhood friend Mina to join the Japan Defense Force and fight by her side. But while she’s out neutralizing kaiju as Third Division captain, Kafka is stuck cleaning up the aftermath of her battles. When a sudden rule change makes Kafka eligible for the Defense Force, he decides to try out for the squad once more. There’s just one problem—he’s made the Defense Force’s neutralization list under the code name Kaiju No. 8.
