Three new voice cast members have been revealed to be joining the main cast of The Banished Former Hero Lives as He Pleases TV anime series. The anime will premiere sometime in Japan in April 2024.

The new voice cast members include Aimi as Mylene, Megumi Han as Beatrice, and Mariya Ise as Akira.

They join a main cast that so far includes:

  • • Shouta Aoi as Allen
  • • Minami Kurisaka as Leeds
  • • Akari Kitou as Henriette
  • • Sora Amamiya as Noel

Kazuomi Koga (Kubo Won’t Let Me Be Invisible, Rent-A-Girlfriend Season 1 and 2) is directing the anime series, with Rintarou Ikeda (Insomniacs After School) as series screenwriter, Yoshiki Ookusa (The Vampire Dies In No Time) as scriptwriter, and Saori Hosoda (Phantom of the Idol) as character designer. Studio Deen and Marvy Jack are handling the animation production for the series.

The anime is based on the light novel series written by Shin Kouzuki and illustrated by Chocoan, which was first published under the TO Books Ranobe label on October 10, 2018. Six volumes have been released as of November 2023. The series originally started as a Shousetsuka ni Narou web novel that ran from January 26, 2018 to June 10, 2019.

The series has also inspired a manga adaptation by Karasumaru on December 24, 2018 in Comic Corona.

J-Novel Club releases the series in English digitally and describes the synopsis as:

Deemed a “good-for-nothing” for his low level and lack of a god-given Gift, Allen is stripped of his noble status and banished from the Duchy of Westfeldt. But Allen has a secret: he was a great hero in a previous life, and he’s thrilled for the chance to finally live the way he pleases! His drama-free existence, however, is soon interrupted by a desperate encounter with his ex-fiancée. As a former hero who still possesses the incredible powers from his past life, Allen can’t ignore someone in need—no matter how much he might like to! And so begins the new heroic saga our former hero never wanted!
