Mr. Villain’s Day Off Unveils New PV Trailer with Opening & Ending Themes, Airs January 7

A new PV trailer has been unveiled for the Mr. Villain’s Day Off TV anime series, which was revealed to be broadcasting on January 7, 2024. 

The new trailer highlights the opening theme “Yuho” by singer Ivudot and the ending theme “Kyusoku Jyuden” by rock band GLASGOW

Yoshiki Kodaka (BEM) is directing the anime series, with Midori Gotou (Smile of the Arsnotoria the Animation) as series screenwriter, Tomomi Shimazaki (A Couple of Cuckoos sub-character designer) as character designer, and Nobuaki Nobusawa (Police in a Pod) as music composer. Shin-Ei Animation and SynergySP are in charge of the animation production. 

The main voice cast for Mr. Villain’s Day Off include: 

  • • Shintarou Asanuma as Warumono-san
  • • Hiiro Ishibashi as Akatsuki Red
  • • Ai Kakuma as Shinonome Pink
  • • Hibiku Yamamura as Mugi and Sora 
  • • Souma Saitou as Rooney
  • • Takuya Eguchi as Sōten Blue
  • • Yuuichi Nakamura as Trigger
  • • Yuuichirou Umehara as Yoiyami Black

The anime is based on Yuu Morikawa’s manga series, which began serialization on Square Enix’s Gangan Pixiv on December 15, 2018. Five tankoubon volumes have been released as of April 2023.

Square Enix Manga & Books releases the manga for English print publication. It also releases the series digitally on the Manga Up! app, describing the synopsis as:

An Evil Organization from another planet is trying to take over Earth. An extraterrestrial from that organization named the “General” tirelessly fights against Earth’s defenders every single day in a battle of life and death! 

However, today is his day off.
