The First Slam Dunk Receives Standard, Limited Edition & “Special Limited Edition” Japanese Home Releases

The First Slam Dunk anime film will be released in Japan on 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray, standard Blu-ray, and DVD home video format on February 28, 2024. 

In addition, a Limited Edition and “Special Limited Edition” version of the film will be sold exclusively at the The First Slam Dunk official goods online store and Toei Video online shop. 

The “Special Limited Edition” version includes several bonus items, such as 16 character display cards, two video bonus discs, a special booklet, “Thank You” gifts distributed at the film’s Japanese screenings, a resized version of the film’s screening flyer, and an upcycled charm created from promotional banners that were displayed at Japanese theaters.

The Limited Edition version of the film’s release will include every bonus item mentioned above, excluding the 16 display cards.

The First Slam Dunk debuted in Japan on December 3, 2023 and was screened by GKIDS in North America on July 28, 2023. The anime film finished its successful run at the Japanese box office with a total gross of 15.73 billion yen (US$105 million). It also won several awards, including Best Animated Work at the 46th Japan Academy Film Prize.
