The upcoming Digimon Adventure 02: The Beginning anime movie will receive screenings in the United States on November 8 and 9, less than a month after its October 27 debut in Japan.
The first 50 attendees of each night’s screening will be given a Digimon Card Game Tamer Party Pack -THE BEGINNING- ver. 2.0, which contains three cards (out of 14) from the upcoming new Digimon Card Game deck that launches in December. This deck features cards that are themed on the movie.
Additionally, the screenings will feature an introduction by director Tomohisa Taguchi (Bleach: Thousand Year Blood War, Digimon Adventure: Last Evolution Kizuna, The Tunnel to Summer, the Exit of Goodbyes).
Digimon Adventure 02: The Beginning returns to the cast of the Digimon Adventure 02 series that ran for 50 episodes from April 2000 to March 2001. Fathom Events describes the plot as:
It’s 2012, and ten years have passed since the adventure in the Digital World. Daisuke Motomiya is now twenty, and he and the rest of the DigiDestined seem to be changing bit by bit in terms of appearance and lifestyle. Then one day, a giant Digitama suddenly appears in the sky over Tokyo Tower. Daisuke and the others encounter a mysterious young man named Lui Ohwada, who informs them that he’s the first ever DigiDestined in the world…
The original series was directed by Hiroyuki Kakudou with Atsushi Maekawa and Genki Yoshimura as series composers. A Digimon Adventure 02 movie with two parts (Part 1 Digimon Hurricane Touchdown!! and Part 2 Supreme Evolution!! The Golden Digimentals) was released in July 2000 with Shigeyasu Yamauchi as director and Reiko Yoshida as scriptwriter. Toei Animation was the animation production studio for those titles.
