The second season of The Fire Hunter anime adaptation will premiere in January 2024, a new update has revealed.
As spotted by Comic Natalie, the new season will see Manaka Iwami and M.A.O joining the cast as Yururuho/Sennen Suisei and Rurimatsuri, respectively.
The Fire Hunter is based on the fantasy novels written by Rieko Hinata and illustrated by Akihiro Yamada, which began in 2018 and ended in 2020 with four volumes. Crunchyroll describes the plot as:
Outside the magical barriers lies a world overrun by fiery beasts known as Flame Demons, and the only ones who can protect humanity are the Fire Hunters. In the dark woods where the beasts roam is where Toko, a young villager, is rescued from attack by one of these skilled trackers, Koshi. But their meeting was no accident, and a new destiny begins.
The main staff of the anime includes Junji Nishimura (Vlad Love, True Tears, Ranma 1/2 Nettou Hen Episode 70 onwards) as director, Mamoru Oshii (Vlad Love chief director and series composer et al. Ghost in the Shell director, Urusei Yatsura Episode 1 – Episode 129 chief director) as series composer, and Takuya Saitou (Outlaw Star, Macross 0) as character designer. Signal.MD is the animation production company.
Meanwhile, The Fire Hunter‘s cast includes Misaki Kuno as Toko, Shouya Ishige as Koshi, Saori Hayami as Kira, Megumi Yamaguchi as Hinako, Shinichirou Miki as Haijuu, Maaya Sakamoto as Akira, Chiaki Kobayashi as Shozo, and Makoto Koichi as Kaho.
