The production team for the second season of Banished from the Hero’s Party, I Decided to Live a Quiet Life in the Countryside announced that the TV anime series will premiere in January 2024. A new PV trailer for season two was also released.
News of a second season for the anime was first announced in October 2022. The 13-episode first season first aired on October 6, 2021 until December 29, 2021. Crunchyroll streamed the anime as it aired in Japan. Studio Flad is credited as the sole animation production company for season two, after collaborating with Wolfsbane in season one.
The first season of Banished from the Hero’s Party was directed by Makoto Hoshino (The Little Lies We All Tell) with Megumi Shimizu (Tomo-chan is A Girl!) as series screenwriter, and Ruriko Watanabe (The Little Lies We All Tell) as main character designer.
Meanwhile, the voice cast includes Ryouta Suzuki as Red, Kanon Takao as Rit, Naomi Oozora as Ruti, Sora Amamiya as Yarandrala, Taku Yashiro as Ares, Aya Uchida as Theodora, Kenta Miyake as Danan, and Rie Kugimiya as Tise.
The series first began as a web novel by Zappon in October 2017 on Shousetsuka ni Narou. Kadokawa then released the series as a light novel in June 2018 under its Sneaker Bunko label, with new illustrations by Yasumo. Twelve volumes have been released as of April 2023, which also includes a prequel volume. A manga adaptation by Masahiro Ikeno was launched in May 2018.
