The upcoming The Family Circumstances of the Irregular Witch anime has received an autumn-themed moon viewing visual. A summer festival visual was previously released in August.

The Family Circumstances of the Irregular Witch (Dekoboko Majo no Oyako Jijou) will premiere on October 1, with Crunchyroll streaming outside Japan. The fantasy comedy anime is based on the manga by Piroya, which was originally a one-shot published in 2018. The story follows Alyssa, a forest-dwelling mage, and her daughter Viola, who was adopted as a baby. Now 16 years of age, Viola has grown to the extent that she dwarfs the centuries-old Alyssa.

Masahiro Takata (The Iceblade Sorcerer Shall Rule the World) is directing the anime with Gyro Knuckle as series composer and Miwa Yoshida (Fate/Apocrypha Episode 7 co-animation director) as character designer and chief animation director. A-Real is the animation production company.

The cast includes Aoi Koga as Alyssa, Nana Mizuki as Viola, You Taichi as Giriko, Akira Sekine as Luna, Takayuki Kondou as Fennel, and Daisuke Ono as Grind.

The Flex Comix-published manga is serialized on Comic Meteor and published under the Meteor Comics label. The fifth tankoubon volume was released in April.

Melvyn originally wanted to write about video games, and he did so for a few years, starting from his college days. He still writes about video games sometimes, but now focuses on anime-related news content and the occasional review. Some of his free time is spent self-learning Japanese, both out of interest in the language and because English-translated light novels and manga are expensive. Every anime season, Melvyn looks forward to discovering new standout episodes and OP/ED animation sequences, as well as learning about the storyboard artists and directors behind them.
