Like the 2009 first season (which had 25 episodes) and the 2011 second season (13 episodes), Kimi ni Todoke – From Me To You 3rd Season will be produced by Production I.G. Voice actors Mamiko Noto and Daisuke Namikawa are reprising their roles as Sawako and Shota, respectively, while staff details are currently unknown.

The Kimi ni Todoke – From Me To You manga ran from 2006 to 2017 in Shueisha’s Bessatsu Margaret magazine and ended with 30 tankoubon volumes. Viz Media describes the manga as:

Sawako Kuronuma is the perfect heroine…for a horror movie. With striking similarities to a haunting movie character–jet-black hair, sinister smile and silent demeanor–she’s mistakenly called Sadako by those around her. But behind her scary façade is a very misunderstood teenager. Too shy to fit in, all she wants to do is make some friends. But when the most popular boy in class befriends her, she’s sure to make more than just that–she’s about to make some enemies too!

The manga has inspired a spin-off subtitled Unmei no Hito that ran from 2018 to 2022 and was compiled into three tankoubon volumes. It also inspired a 2010 live-action movie.

Earlier this year, Netflix released a live-action drama adaptation (which titled From Me to You: Kimi ni Todoke) of the manga.
