The upcoming TV anime adaptation of Whisper Me A Love Song (Sasayaku you ni Koi wo Utau) has received its first key visual. The promotional illustration depicts its two romantic leads sharing a moment in a classroom, with the cool, dark-haired Yori performing a song while locking eyes with a spellbound Himari.
Whisper Me A Love Song will begin airing in Japan in January 2024. It is based on the manga by Eku Takeshima, which began serialization in Comic Yuri Hime in 2019 and has eight tankoubon volumes as of July this year. Kodansha USA describes the plot as:
Bubbly, energetic first-year high school student Himari falls head over heels for her senpai Yori after hearing her band perform on the first day of school. Himari tells Yori she just loves her, and, to Himari’s surprise, Yori says she loves Himari back! But when Himari realizes that she and her senpai are feeling two different kinds of love, she begins to ask herself what “love” really means…
The anime is directed by Xinya Cai (The Genius Prince’s Guide to Raising a Nation Out of Debt assistant director) with Hiroki Uchida (Requiem of the Rose King) as series composer and Minami Yoshida (Manaria Friends) as character designer. CLOUDHEARTS is producing the show with Yokohama Animation Lab providing animation production supervision.
