A new character PV trailer has been released for the upcoming anime Atarashii Joushi wa Do Tennen, highlighting one of the lead characters, Yuusei Shirosaki (voiced by Yuuichirou Umehara). The series is scheduled to premiere in October 2023.

Noriyuki Abe (GTO, Boruto animation supervisor) is directing the anime, with Masahiro Yokotani (The Devil Is a Part-Timer!!) as series screenwriter, Kyoukou Yasuda (Wotakoi: Love Is Hard for Otaku) as character designer and chief animation director, and Masato Nakayama (We Never Learn: Bokuben) as music composer. A-1 Pictures is in charge of the animation production for the series.

Aside from Umehara as Yuusei, the voice cast includes Koutarou Nishiyama as Kentaro Momose, Tomokazu Sugita as Mitsuo Aoyama, Jun Fukuyama as Aigo Kinjo, and Hiro Shimono as Hakutou.

The anime is based on the manga series by Dan Ichikawa, which began as a Twitter webcomic in 2018. It was then serialized on Akita Shoten’s Manga Cross website on February 5, 2019 and the series is published under the Young Champions Comics imprint. Two tankoubon volumes have been released as of May 2020.

Atarashii Joushi wa Do Tennen has won several awards and accolades. It won the pixiv and Nippon Shuppan Hanbai’s “Web Manga General Election” in 2019, and also ranked seventh in the web category of the fifth Next Manga Awards that same year. The manga placed third in Tsutaya Comic Award in 2020 and ranked second on AnimeJapan’s “Manga We Want to See Animated” poll.
