Seven Seas Entertainment announced that it will launch an audiobook adaptation series of the Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation light novels through its Siren imprint. The audiobook for the first volume will be released in September 2023 and pre-orders are now available on the official website.
The audiobook adaptation will be narrated by Cliff Kurt and will be the first English audiobook adaptation of the light novels, written by Rifujin na Magonote and illustrated by Shirotaka. It was published by Kadokawa’s Media Factory imprint from January 24, 2014 to November 25, 2022 for a total of 26 volumes.
The light novel series first began as a web novel on Shousetsuka ni Narou, running from November 22, 2012 to April 3, 2015. It also inspired a manga adaptation and multiple spin-off media.
The first 23-episode season of Mushoku Tensei aired as split cour seasons from January 11, 2021 to March 22, 2021 and October 4, 2021 to December 20, 2021. The first cour for the second season began airing on July 2, 2023 in Japan with an “Episode 0” special focused on Sylphiette/Fitz. Crunchyroll, Muse Asia, and Bilibili are streaming the anime series outside of Japan. Studio Bind is the animation production company for the anime.
Seven Seas describes the synopsis of Mushoku Tensei as:
Kicked out by his family and wandering the streets, an unemployed 34-year-old shut-in thinks he’s hit rock-bottom–just as he’s hit and killed by a speeding truck! Awakening to find himself reborn as an infant in a world of swords and sorcery, but with the memories of his first life intact, Rudeus Greyrat is determined not to repeat his past mistakes. He’s going to make the most of this reincarnation as he sets off on the adventure of a second lifetime!
