The production team for the My Daughter Left the Nest and Returned an S-Rank Adventurer TV anime series announced the addition of two new cast members. The anime is scheduled to premiere this coming Fall 2023.

The new voice cast members include Maki Kawase as Anessa and Rumi Ookubo as Miriam. They join Saori Hayami and Junichi Suwabe as Angeline and Belgrieve, respectively.

Naoki Murata (Dead Mount Death Play episode 10 director) is directing the anime series, with Takeshi Mori (Stratos 4 Advance and The Skullman director) as chief director, Yuuichirou Momose (Rokudo’s Bad Girls) as series screenwriter, and Jun Shibata (The Skullman, Mobile Suit Gundam Hathaway co-character animation director) as character designer and chief animation director. Typhoon Graphics is handling the animation production.

The anime is based on the light novel series written by Mojikakiya and illustrated by toi8. It was first published as a web novel that was serialized on Shousetsuka ni Narou from September 18, 2017 to January 21, 2020. It was then published under Earth Star Entertainment’s Earth Star Novel label from February 15, 2018 to November 16, 2021. A total of 11 volumes were released.

The light novels also inspired a manga adaptation by Kuu Urushibara that was launched in Comic Earth Star on May 8, 2018.

J Novel Club releases both the light novels and manga in English, describing the synopsis as:

The life of an adventurer isn’t always a glamorous one. Belgrieve finds this out the hard way when a deadly encounter robs him of his leg and the ability to pursue his dreams not long after setting off for fame and fortune. But fate isn’t finished with this retired adventurer! While gathering herbs in the wilderness, he discovers an abandoned baby girl and names her Angeline after deciding to raise her as his own. Angeline grows up to become a top-tier adventurer in her own right, yet after venturing out into the world and making a name for herself, fame, fortune, and power hold no allure for the accomplished S-rank adventurer: her heartfelt wish is for nothing more than to see her father again.
