Crunchyroll hosted its industry panel at Anime Expo 2023 on July 3, 2023, revealing a large slate of announcements and its latest title acquisitions, headlined by the news of a fourth Black Butler season and a Solo Leveling trailer premiere.
Several new anime series that were acquired by Crunchyroll include The Apothecary Diaries, The Faraway Paladin: The Lord of Rust Mountain, GOBLIN SLAYER Season 2, The Kingdoms of Ruin, I Was Reincarnated as the 7th Prince So I Can Take My Time Perfecting My Magical Ability, To Be Hero X, Bottom-Tier Character Tomozaki 2nd Stage, and Black Butler.
Additionally, the new trailer for Solo Leveling revealed that the anime from A-1 Pictures will be released next Winter 2024.
Crunchyroll also debuted a new trailer for the upcoming A Returner’s Magic Should Be Special anime series, ahead of its October 2023 premiere.
Other trailers from Anime Expo that were screened include Bucchigiri!?! from MAPPA’s panel, as well as KamiErabi GOD.app and Metallic Rouge from Fuji TV’s “+Ultra” panel. The latter two series will be released in October 2023 and January 2024, respectively.
For basketball fans, Crunchyroll also previewed its My Hero Academia collaboration with TOHO animation, NBA, NBALAB, and HYPERFLY. The line of streetwear is inspired by the anime series and will debut at NBA Con, held in Las Vegas from July 7, 2023 to July 9, 2023. The full range of merchandise will launch later this fall.
