Spy x Family To Have Street Fighter 6 Collaboration

The Spy x Family Code: White anime movie is getting a special collaboration with Street Fighter 6, the latest entry in the long-running CAPCOM fighting game series. More details will be announced later, but in the meantime, there’s a visual of Yor battling Chun-Li with joyous expressions while the other Forgers, Ryu, and Li-Fen spectate.

The Wit Studio and Cloverworks-produced Spy x Family anime is based on the Shueisha-published action-comedy manga by Tatsuya Endou. The first season of the anime aired with two split cours in 2022 and is set to be followed up by a second season this October. Spy x Family Code: White anime movie, which features an original story set in the Frigis region, will arrive after the new season’s start with a December 22 premiere in Japan.

Viz Media describes the manga as:

Not one to depend on others, Twilight has his work cut out for him procuring both a wife and a child for his mission to infiltrate an elite private school. What he doesn’t know is that the wife he’s chosen is an assassin and the child he’s adopted is a telepath!

As for Street Fighter 6, the fighting game was released on June 2 for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X/S, and Steam. The title introduces some new playable characters to the roster and features the World Tour single-player story mode, where players create their own avatar to explore various locations and learn fighting styles from Masters.

Spy x Family Season 1 co-assistant director Takashi Katagiri is taking on the role of director for the Spy x Family Code: White, with Season 1 director Kazuhiro Furuhashi adopting an animation supervisor role. The movie also features Kana Ishida (The Irregular at Magic High School: Reminiscence Arc character designer) as sub-character designer alongside main character designer Kazuaki Shimada. Ichirou Ookouchi (Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch of Mercury series composer) is writing the script.

The main cast of the anime includes Takuya Eguchi as Loid Forger, Saori Hayami as Yor Forger, and Atsumi Tanezaki as Anya Forger.
