TRIGGER revealed at Anime Expo 2023 the rights to Panty & Stocking have been transferred over to the studio from Gainax. A new anime project is in production and the first trailer and key visual were revealed.
The first season of Panty & Stocking with Garterbelt, which first aired in Japan in 2010, was produced by Gainax with Hiroyuki Imaishi (Promare, Kill la Kill) as director, Geek Fleet as series composer, and Atsushi Nishigori (Gurren Lagann, The Idolmaster director) as character designer.
The anime also had ☆Taku Takahashi(m-flo) & TCY Crew as music composer and featured songs from Teddyloid, TCY Force, and Hoshina Anniversary. A Kadokawa Shoten-published manga by TAGRO ran from 2010 to 2011 with a single tankoubon volume.
