J-Novel Club Announces JNC Original Light Novel Contest at Anime Expo

During their industry panel at Anime Expo 2023, J-Novel Club announced that they will be hosting and opening submissions for its JNC Original Light Novel Contest. 

Submissions are scheduled to open in early August 2023, with a final submission deadline of January 31, 2024. Submitted works must be in English. 

This new contest has several prize tiers including:

  • • Grand Prize of US$15,000 with a manga adaptation by Kadokawa
  • • First Prizes of US$3,000 each
  • • Runner-Up Prizes of US$1,000 each
  • • BOOKWALKER Prize of US$2,500

In addition, all award winners will receive cover and internal artwork created for their works, as well as digital publication by J-Novel Club.

A special webpage has been set up for interested contestants that provides more details on the contest, as well as how to sign up for a mailing list that will notify them when submissions are open. More details and an FAQ page can be found on the special webpage.
