A second season has been announced for the Hell’s Paradise anime adaptation, which recently released its final episode.
A fifth “special visual,” featuring Yuzuriha and Senta, was also released.
Hell’s Paradise began airing in April 1 in Japan, with Crunchyroll streaming the show outside of the country. It had a brief delay during its broadcast when Episode 9 was pushed from May 27 to June 3. The anime is based on the Shueisha-published manga by Yuuji Kaku that ran from 2018 to 2021 with 13 tankoubon volumes.
Viz Media describes the manga, which it publishes as Hell’s Paradise: Jigokuraku, as:
Gabimaru the Hollow is one of the most vicious assassins ever to come out of the ninja village of Iwagakure. He’s ruthlessly efficient, but a betrayal results in him being handed a death sentence. He has only one hope—in order to earn his freedom, he must travel to a long-hidden island and recover an elixir that will make the shogun immortal. Failure is not an option. On this island, heaven and hell are just a hair’s breadth away.

The anime is directed by Kaori Makita (Saezuru Tori Wa Habatakanai: The Clouds Gather) with Akira Kindaichi (I’m Quitting Heroing scriptwriter) as series composer, Kouji Hisaki (Saezuru Tori Wa Habatakanai: The Clouds Gather co-main animator) as character designer, and Yoshiaki Dewa (Call of the Night) as music composer. MAPPA is the animation production company.
The cast includes:
• Chiaki Kobayashi as Gabimaru
• Yumiri Hanamori as Yamada Asaemon Sagiri
• Rie Takahashi as Yuzuriha
• Daiki Yamashita as Yamada Asaemon Senta
• Chikahiro Kobayashi as Yamada Asaemon Shion
• Makoto Koichi as Nurugai
• Yuusuke Kobayashi as Yamada Asaemon Tenza
• Ryouhei Kimura as Aza Chobe
• Kensho Ono as Yamada Asaemon Toma
• Tetsu Inada as Tamiya Gantetsusai

The manga series, which was serialized on Shonen Jump+, has inspired a spin-off manga and a novel.
