Tokyo Revengers‘ first season ran from April to September 2021 while Tokyo Revengers: Christmas Showdown Arc aired from January to April 2023. The gang-themed time leap anime is based on the manga by Ken Wakui, which was serialized in Kodansha’s Weekly Shounen Magazine from March 2017 to November 2022. The series is collected into 31 tankoubon volumes.

Kodansha USA describes the story as:

Watching the news, Takemichi Hanagaki learns that his girlfriend from way back in middle school, Hinata Tachibana, has died. The only girlfriend he ever had was just killed by a villainous group known as the Tokyo Manji Gang. He lives in a crappy apartment with thin walls, and his six-years-younger boss treats him like an idiot. Plus, he’s a complete and total virgin … At the height of his rock-bottom life, he suddenly time-leaps twelve years back to his middle school days!! To save Hinata, and change the life he spent running away, hopeless part-timer Takemichi must aim for the top of Kanto’s most sinister delinquent gang!!

The returning staff for the LIDENFILMS-produced anime includes Kouichi Hatsumi as director, Yasuyuki Mutou as series composer, Kenichi Ohnuki and Keiko Oota as character designers, and Hiroaki Tsutsumi as music composer.

The cast includes Yuuki Shin as Takemichi Hanagaki, Azumi Waki as Hinata Tachibana, Ryouta Oosaka as Naoto Tachibana, Yuu Hayashi as Manjiro “Mikey” Sano, and Masaya Fukunishi as Ken “Draken” Ryuuguuji. Ken was voiced by Tatsuhisa Suzuki in the first season.
