HIDIVE announced that it will host the North American premiere of the action-fantasy series Helck at Anime Expo 2023. The first two episodes of Helck will be presented in English subtitles and take place on July 1, 2023 at 1:30 PST in the Platinum Ballroom of the JW Marriott in Los Angeles, California.
Earlier this year, HIDIVE announced its license acquisition of Helck, which will debut after Anime Expo as part of HIDIVE’s Summer 2023 Simulcast Season.
The anime is based on the manga series by Nanaki Nanao, which ran from May 5, 2014 to December 18, 2017 for a total of 12 tankoubon volumes. It was serialized in Ura Sunday magazine and the MangaONE app and published under the Ura Shonen Sunday Comics label. Viz Media is releasing the manga in English.
Tatsuo Satou (Atom the Beginning, Madan no Ou to Vanadis) is directing the anime series at Satelight with Yoshinori Deno (Sakugan chief animation director) as animation character designer and Toshizou Nemoto (Bakuten!! Series screenwriter) and Mitsutaka Hirota (Reborn to Master the Blade: From Hero-King to Extraordinary Squire series screenwriter) as scenario writers. Satelight is handling the animation production for the series.
Meanwhile, the main voice cast includes Katsuyuki Konishi as Helck, Mikako Komatsu as Vermilio, Yoshitsugu Matsuoka as Azudra, Akira Ishida as Hon, Shiki Aoki as Asta, Haruka Shiraishi as Ista, Hiroyuki Yoshino as Kenros, Rena Maeda as Hyura, Yukana as The Witch, and Shuuichi Ikeda as the narrator.
