Spy x Family Season 2 Reveals Teaser Visuals

The upcoming second season of Spy x Family has received two teaser visuals — one serving as a “cool” version and the other as a “comical” version — illustrated by the anime’s character designer Kazuaki Shimada.

Spy x Family Season 2 is set to begin airing in October. An anime movie titled Spy x Family CODE: White will premiere on December 22 in Japan.

The first season of the Wit Studio and Cloverworks co-production aired with two split cours. The first cour debuted on April 9 and ran for 12 episodes while the second premiered in October 2022. The second cour was streamed by Crunchyroll, Bilibili, and Muse Asia outside of Japan.

The anime is an adaptation of the Shueisha-published manga by Tatsuya Endou, which began in 2019 and has 11 tankoubon volumes as of April 2023. Viz Media describes Spy x Family as:

Not one to depend on others, Twilight has his work cut out for him procuring both a wife and a child for his mission to infiltrate an elite private school. What he doesn’t know is that the wife he’s chosen is an assassin and the child he’s adopted is a telepath!

The show’s second season will feature some main staff changes, with director Kazuhiro Furuhashi (Dororo) sharing direction duties with Takahiro Harada (Season 1 co-assistant director) and ceding series composition duties to Ichirou Ookouchi (Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch of Mercury), who will have two assistant series composers as well. Kazuaki Shimada remains as the character designer.

Meanwhile, the main cast includes Takuya Eguchi as Loid Forger, Saori Hayami as Yor Forger, and Atsumi Tanezaki as Anya Forger.

The manga is serialized on Shonen Jump+ and published under the Jump Comics+ label.
