Three more cast members have been announced for the upcoming Reign of the Seven Spellblades anime. They include:

Atsumi Tanaka as Esmeralda
Kazuyuki Okitsu as Luther Garland
Hiroki Touchi as Darius Grenville

Reign of the Seven Spellblades is set to premiere this July. It is an adaptation of the light novel series by Bokuto Uno (Alderamin on the Sky), which is published under KADOKAWA’s Dengeki Bunko label.

Yen Press describes the series as:

Springtime at Kimberly Magic Academy brings a new batch of first-year students, all bright-eyed and bushy-tailed as they begin their journey to become full-fledged mages. Among these newcomers are Oliver Horn, a studious boy equally skilled with the wand and the blade, and Nanao Hibiya, a strong-willed samurai girl from the distant nation of Yamatsu. The wheels of fate bring these two souls together at Kimberly, where they become both comrades and rivals in equal measure. However, lurking within the academy’s halls are countless dangers and dark secrets guaranteed to threaten not only their friendship-but their very lives…

Masato Matsune (WIXOSS DIVA(A)LIVE) is directing the anime at J.C. Staff with Shougo Yasukawa (Otaku Elf) as series composer, Soudai Suwa (Combatants Will Be Dispatched!) as character designer, and Kujira Yumemi (Kubo Won’t Let Me Be Invisible) as music composer. The main cast includes:

• Atsushi Tamaru as Oliver Horn
• Yuka Nukui as Nanao Hibiya
• Misuzu Yamada as Michela McFarlane
• Hitomi Owada as Katie Aalto
• Riho Sugiyama as Pete Reston
• Shinsuke Sugawara as Guy Greenwood

12 volumes (including a side story) of the light novels have been released as of March 2023. The series began in 2018 and has inspired a manga adaptation.
