On July 21 and 22, Tokyo Big Sight will be the site of One Piece Day’23, the latest in a series of annual events that celebrate the manga’s start on July 22, 1997.
One Piece Day’23’s first day will have a special evening screening of 2022’s highly popular One Piece Film Red anime movie (Bandai Namco’s press release says that it has made over 31.9 billion yen/~US$234.5 million worldwide) where fans can cheer out loud during the movie. The second day will have more events and attractions, including a stage event featuring cast members and news reveals, a “Special Exhibition,” a One Piece Bounty Rush tournament, and an area for merchandise and exhibits. More details about the Day 2 lineup will be released later.
Fans who hope to attend One Piece Day’23 can apply for a free ticket online. If the number of applicants exceeds capacity (the planned number of attendees is 600 for Day 1 and 7000 for Day 2), a lottery will determine who obtains the tickets. The event will also be livestreamed on YouTube.
