The upcoming Rascal Does Not Dream of a Sister Venturing Out anime movie has received a main trailer featuring the song “Fukashigi no Karte” by Yurika Kubo (performing as her character, the titular sister Kaede Azusagawa).
“Fukashigi no Karte” was originally used as the ending song of the 2018 Rascal Does Not Dream of Bunny Girl Senpai anime series, with the song being performed by Kubo with the other heroines’ voice actors: Asami Seto (Mai Sakurajima), Nao Touyama (Tomoe Koga), Atsumi Tanezaki (Rio Futaba), Maaya Uchida (Nodoka Toyohama), and Inori Minase (Shoko Makinohara).
Rascal Does Not Dream of a Sister Venturing Out is due to premiere in Japanese theaters on June 23. It is a sequel to Rascal Does Not Dream of Bunny Girl Senpai and the 2019 Rascal Does Not Dream of a Dreaming Girl movie.
Yen Press describes the Rascal Does Not Dream of a Sister Venturing Out volume of the original light novels as:
After a draining December, Sakuta is quickly nearing the end of his second year of high school. Since Mai is a third-year student, they don’t have much time left together before graduation rolls around. Meanwhile, his sister, Kaede, is slowly but steadily venturing outdoors again. Just as she begins to find her footing, she announces her most ambitious goal yet—attending her brother’s high school! Sakuta knows better than anyone how difficult this will be for Kaede, and he’s ready to support her however he can. He’s just not sure if that’s what’s best for her…or what she really wants…
The KADOKAWA-published Rascal Does Not Dream of Bunny Girl Senpai series written by Hajime Kamoshida and illustrated by Keji Mizoguchi sees protagonist Sakuta Azusagawa (voiced by Kaito Ishikawa in the anime) helping various girls who suffer from a supernatural affliction dubbed Adolescence Syndrome, which is related to the social issues they face in the real world. Rascal Does Not Dream of a Sister Venturing Out was announced with an adaptation of the Rascal Does Not Dream of Randoseru Girl arc, with the two stories marking the end of Sakuta’s high school days.
The returning staff for Rascal Does Not Dream of a Sister Venturing Out includes Souichi Masui as director, Masahiro Yokotani as series composer and scriptwriter, and Satomi Tamura as character designer. CloverWorks is the animation production company again.
The light novel series began in 2014 and have 12 volumes as of November 2022. Its arcs have inspired manga adaptations.
