Bandai Namco Arts and DeNA have announced the upcoming launch of the takt op. Symphony mobile game in 2023. The free-to-play game will launch on iOS and Android devices later this year, with a beta test set to take place later this April.
Takt op. Symphony is a collaboration between video game developer Ouji Hiroi and illustrator LAM, which expands upon the story of the anime series takt op.Destiny and features both returning characters and newly-created characters in the mobile game. It also features a strategic turn-based battle system and special “Memories” abilities to highlight each character’s combat experience and battle effects.
An official website for the mobile game was launched on April 12, 2023, along with a Discord community in which fans can connect ahead of its launch.
A celebration event will also take place on the game’s official Twitter, with limited-time exclusive rewards available for fans.
The takt op.Destiny 12-episode anime series premiered from October 6, 2021 to December 22, 2021. MAPPA and Madhouse were the animation production companies, with Crunchyroll streaming the series outside of Japan. The anime also inspired a 2022 manga adaptation by Kino, which was launched in Media Factory’s Monthly Comic Alive magazine. The manga is told from the perspective of Anna Schneider.
Crunchyroll describes the synopsis of takt op.Destiny as:
Music is the light that illuminates people’s hearts– and that “light” was suddenly taken from the world. The world changed the night the black “Kuroya Meteorite” fell. Grotesque monsters known as D2 emerged from the meteorite and began to overrun the land and people. As the D2 were drawn to melodies people played, eventually “music” itself became taboo.
The year is 2047. The United States has been devastated by the struggle against the D2. Takt the Conductor and Destiny the Musicart travel together to New York. In a world without music, Takt longs for it. Meanwhile, Musicart Destiny hopes to wipe out the D2.
Will the melody they produce together be joy or despair?
