Crunchyroll Adds Sweet Reincarnation, Firefighter Daigo: Rescuer in Orange, & More to Summer & Fall Streaming Schedules

Crunchyroll announced the license acquisition of new anime titles for its upcoming Summer and Fall 2023 anime streaming schedules. The four new titles include Sweet Reincarnation, Bungo Stray Dogs season five, My Unique Skill Makes Me OP even at Level 1, and Firefighter Daigo: Rescuer in Orange

The announcements were made during Crunchyroll’s industry panels at Anime Boston 2023 and Sakura-Con 2023, respectively. 

Crunchyroll also announced that it will stream the second season of Eden’s Zero in North America, Central America, South America, Europe (excluding Spain, Portugal, Italy, and French and German-speaking countries), Africa, Oceania, the Middle East, the Commonwealth of Independent States, and India. France-based company Mediatoon Distribution acquired the worldwide distribution rights for the second season earlier this month. 


Sweet Reincarnation will premiere in Japan in July 2023, with SynergySP producing the anime series and Studio Comet providing production assistance.

It is based on the light novel series written by Nozomu Koryu and illustrated by Yasuyuki Syuri. TO Books began publishing the series on October 20, 2015 and has released 23 volumes as of April 2023. The series first began as a web novel on Shousetsuka ni Narou on February 17, 2015. The light novels also inspired a manga adaptation written by Midori Tomizawa and illustrated by Seriko Iida. 

Meanwhile, the main voice cast includes Ayumu Murase as Pastry, Natsumi Fushiwara as Marcarlo, Maaya Uchida as Luminite, and Kaede Hondo as Licorice.

Crunchyroll describes the synopsis as: 

A boy named Pastry is set to become the next lord of the destitute dominion of Morteln. He’s known for having remarkable talent for his age… and it just so happens he was a genius pastry chef with a promising future in his previous life! He still retains his determination to make sweets that will make everyone smile, even after reincarnating as Pastry.

But many challenges stand before him, including bandits attacking his domain, malicious and eccentric nobles, an unfortunate financial situation, and land so barren that even water is scarce.

The only weapons he has to fight them with are his own ingenuity and love for making sweets. Can Pastry succeed in bringing happiness to the land?!

The fifth season of Bungo Stray Dogs is the latest installment in the long-running anime series. Season four most recently aired from January 5, 2023 to March 29, 2023. Season five is scheduled to premiere sometime in July 2023. Bones is in charge of the animation production for the series, once again. 

Bungo Stray Dogs is based on the manga written by Kafka Asagiri and illustrated by Sango Harukawa, which began serialization on December 4, 2012 in Kadokawa’s Young Ace magazine. It has released 23 tankoubon volumes as of December 2022 under the Kadokawa Comics Ace label.

The first two anime seasons were released in 2016, while the third was released in 2019. An anime film titled Bungo Stray Dogs: DEAD APPLE was released in 2018.

The main voice cast includes Yuuto Uemura as Atsushi Nakajima, Mamoru Miyano as Osamu Dazai, Yoshimasa Hosoya as Doppo Kunikida, Hiroshi Kamiya as Ranpo Edogawa, Toshiyuki Toyonaga as Junichirou Tanizaki, Hiroyuki Kagura as Kenji Miyazawa, Yuu Shimamura as Akiko Yosano, Rikiya Koyama as Yukichi Fukuzawa, and Sumire Morohoshi as Kyouka Izumi. 

Yen Press describes the manga series as:

Having been kicked out of the orphanage, a despairing young man by the name of Atsushi Nakajima rescues a strange man from a suicide attempt – Osamu Dazai. Turns out that Dazai is part of an armed-detective agency staffed by individuals whose supernatural powers take on a literary bent!

My Unique Skill Makes Me OP even at Level 1 will premiere in Japan in July 2023, with Maho Film handling the animation production. Meanwhile, the voice cast includes Kaito Ishikawa as Ryouta Satou and Rin Kusumi as Emily Brown.

The anime is based on the isekai light novel series written by Nazuna Miki and illustrated by Subachi. It began on August 31, 2017 and has released seven volumes as of December 2019 under the K Ranobe Books label.

Crunchyroll describes the anime’s synopsis as: 

Sato Ryota, a salaryman working for an exploitative company, suddenly finds himself inside an unfamiliar dungeon in a strange world where monsters drop all sorts of items as loot. With the help of a girl he happens to run into named Emily, he’s able to check his own stats… and finds that all of them, both physical and magical, are at rank F (the weakest)! What’s more, his level is stuck at 1 (the lowest)! Ryota is on the verge of utter despair… but then he learns that he also has “Drop Skill: All S,” the most powerful unique skill there is! Can Ryota manage to survive in this bizarre world?! The strongest and weakest adventure of all is about to begin!

Firefighter Daigo: Rescuer in Orange is set to premiere sometime in Fall 2023, with Brain’s Base in charge of the animation production. 

The anime is based on the manga written by Masahito Soda and illustrated by Kuro Tomiyama. It was first serialized in Kodansha’s Monthly Shounen Magazine on October 6, 2020. Six tankoubon volumes have been released under the KC Deluxe label as of December 2022. Kyuukoku no Orange itself is a sequel to Soda’s original Megumi no Daigo manga series.

The main voice cast includes Junya Enoki as Daigo Toake, Taku Yashiro as Shun Onoda, and Ayane Sakura as Yuki Nakamura. 

Crunchyroll describes the anime series as: 

Toake Daigo burns with remarkable talent and unparalleled determination. Onoda Shun struggles against the walls blocking his own path. Nakamura Yuki hopes to become one of the few female members of the special rescue corps known as “Orange.” When these three young firefighters who share the goal of becoming members of Orange come together, the story of how Japan will one day be saved begins… and what looms before them is a crisis that endangers the entire country!
