Gundam Build Metaverse Coming This October

A new Gundam Build show titled Gundam Build Metaverse is set to premiere on the GundamInfo YouTube channel in October. The show is meant to commemorate the Gundam Build series’ 10th anniversary.

It was also announced that Gundam Build Metaverse will have three episodes.

The Gundam Build series debuted in 2013 with the 25-episode Gundam Build Fighters, which was directed by Kenji Nagasaki with character designs from Kenichi Ohnuki. Unlike traditional Gundam anime that have actual conflict and mobile suits, the Gundam Build titles features a universe where people use their Gunpla models to take part in simulated fights, with these Gunpla Battles proving popular enough to give rise to the annual Gunpla Battle World Championship.

The Gundam.Info website describes Gundam Build Fighters as:

The main character of the story, Sei Iori, is a young Gunpla builder who loves Gunpla and dreams of entering the Gunpla Battle World Tournament. As the only heir to a hobby shop, he has high Gunpla building abilities, but he doesn’t know how to control them in battle and is continually defeated in the opening rounds of tournaments. When he meets Reiji, a mysterious boy with superb Gunpla control skills, they team up to take on the World Championship.

A 2014 sequel titled Gundam Build Fighters Try aired from 2014 to 2015. There have also been ONA like Gundam Build Fighters: Battlogue and Gundam Build FightersGM’s Counterattack and the TV special Gundam Build Fighters Try Island Wars.
