Two new character PV trailers have been released for the upcoming Saint Cecilia and Pastor Lawrence TV anime series. The trailers highlight the anime’s side characters Hazelita and Abel. The series will premiere sometime in July 2023, after a production delay from its initial April 2023 debut. Crunchyroll will stream the series outside of Japan.
Kanna Nakamura and Haruki Ishiya are voicing Hazelita and Abel, respectively. They join a main voice cast consisting of Hime Sawada as Cecilia and Kaito Ishikawa as Lawrence.
Sumie Noro (Sleepy Princess in the Demon Castle assistant director) is directing Saint Cecilia and Pastor Lawrence with Yuka Yamada (Tokyo Mew Mew New) as series screenwriter, Hiromi Nakagawa (WATATEN!: an Angel Flew Down to Me) as character designer, Chieko Nakamura (Words Bubble Up Like Soda Pop) as art director, Seiichi Sugiura (Osamake: Romcom Where The Childhood Friend Won’t Lose) as photography director, Genta Makabe (Osamake: Romcom Where The Childhood Friend Won’t Lose) as color designer, and Ruka Kawada (Kiniro Mosaic: Thank You!!) as music composer. Doga Kobo is handling the animation production for the series.
The anime is based on the manga series by Hazano Kazutake, which was first serialized in Kodansha’s Shounen Magazine R on April 20, 2017 under the Kodansha Comics Monthly Magazine label. The manga was recently transferred to the Getsu Maga Kichi website in January 2023. Eleven tankoubon volumes have been released as of December 2022.
Kodansha USA releases the Saint Cecilia and Pastor Lawrence manga in English digitally and describes the premise as:
Saint Cecilia is beloved by the townspeople—not only is she elegant and composed, she benevolently shares her wisdom with all who seek it. That is, until the last person has left—at which point she becomes totally hopeless! Only Pastor Lawrence is keeping the Saint put together enough to do her duties…and though she may test him, it’s all in a day’s work!
