Crunchyroll has announced that it is teaming up with soccer fashion brand Saturdays Football and the MLS LA Galaxy soccer club to host a free soccer tournament in Los Angeles. The tournament will take place on Saturday, March 25, 2023 at 11:00 AM PST, in celebration of the upcoming season finale of BLUELOCK

Participation is open to everyone and those interested in participating must RSVP through the event’s EventBrite page. Another tournament will be scheduled for Dallas at a later date, with more details about it to be revealed soon.

The special BLUELOCK tournament will be held at the new Galaxy Park complex at the Dignity Health Sports Park campus in Carson, California, just south of Los Angeles. Players will engage in a 3 vs. 3 “King of the Court” format soccer game that will take place across multiple fields and last 90 minutes each. At the end of the 90 minutes, the four teams on the top two courts will play against each other in a semi-final match, with the winners facing off in a final game to determine the winner.

The winning team will receive a BLUELOCK prize pack that will include various exclusive merchandise. They will also get a custom BLUELOCK x Saturday’s Football jersey that will only be available for winners of the tournament. All participants in the tournament will receive a free Crunchyroll trial code to watch BLUELOCK on its platform.

Crunchyroll describes the synopsis of BLUELOCK as:

Japan’s desire for World Cup glory leads the Japanese Football Association to launch a new rigorous training program to find the national team’s next striker. Three hundred high school players are pitted against each other for the position, but only one will come out on top. Who among them will be the striker to usher in a new era of Japanese soccer?
