Knights of the Zodiac Trailer Previews Superpowered Action, Sean Bean

The live-action Knights of the Zodiac movie, or Saint Seiya: The Beginning in Japanese, has received a main trailer that previews its action sequences and the theme song “Courage” by P!NK.

There are also clips of Sean Bean‘s Alman Kido and Madison Iseman‘s Sienna, with the former informing protagonist Seiya (played by Mackenyu) of his destiny as a Pegasus Knight.

Knights of the Zodiac is set to premiere on April 28 in Japan. Its main poster was revealed on February 28. 

The movie is directed by Tomasz Baginski, who served as executive producer on Netflix’s The Witcher and directed shorts like Polish Legends and the Oscar-nominated The Cathedral. 10 Cloverfield Lane‘s Matt Stuecken and Josh Campbell are penning the script, while Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings fight coordinator Andy Cheng is credited with the action direction. Toei Animation is involved in the film’s production.

Meanwhile, the cast includes Famke Janssen, Nick StahlDiego Tinoco, and Mark Dacascos

The original Shueisha-published Saint Seiya manga by Masami Kurumada ran from 1986 to 1990 and has been compiled into 28 tankoubon volumes. The series has inspired various anime series, OVAs, and movies, as well as light novels and other manga.

The Akita Shoten-published sequel manga, Saint Seiya Next Dimension: Myth of Hades, began in 2016 and has 13 tankoubon volumes as of June 2021. Its serialization paused in 2018 before resuming in 2021.
