The Café Terrace and Its Goddesses anime adaptation is set to begin airing in Japan on April 7 (effectively April 8 at 1:25 AM JST). The premiere date reveal was accompanied by the release of a main trailer, which previews yet more scenes of the titular “goddesses” as well as the newly announced opening song “Unmei Kyoudoutai!” by Neriame, and a new visual featuring all five heroines.
Additionally, it was announced that Kazue Ikura is voicing Sachiko Kasukabe, the grandmother of protagonist Hayoto, and that Miki Satou is performing the ending song “Dramatic.”
The Café Terrace and Its Goddesses is based on the manga by Kouji Seo, which began in 2021 and has nine tankoubon volumes as of February 2023. The manga is serialized in Kodansha’s Weekly Shonen Magazine and published under the Kodansha Comics label.
Kodansha USA describes the manga as:
When Hayato’s grandmother passed, he planned to sell her rundown café on the shore—not realizing that it was also home to five young women who call themselves her family?! Their desperation to keep the café open convinces Hayato to give it a shot…but even their best intentions might not be enough to make it work! And can he even work with these five unruly women? No matter what, he’s got his work cut out for him! A fun new romcom by the author of Fuuka and Suzuka!
The anime’s staff includes Satoshi Kuwabara (The Quintessential Quintuplets Season 1, Adachi and Shimamura) as director, Keiichirou Oochi (The Quintessential Quintuplets) as series composer and scriptwriter, Masatsune Noguchi (The Genie Family 2020 original character designer) as character designer, and Shuu Kanematsu (Dynamic Chord) and Miki Sakurai (Machikado Mazoku) as music composers.
