Doraemon: Nobita’s Sky Utopia Movie Releases Trailer on Premiere Date

The new Doraemon anime movie, Doraemon: Nobita’s Sky Utopia, has received a new, full-length trailer the same day as its Japanese premiere. 

The trailer shows off the titular sky utopia, Paradapia, which Nobita and his friends must help save, and the cat-like robot Sonya (Ren Nagase from King & Prince). Also previewed is the theme song “Paradise” by NiziU.

Doraemon the Movie 2023: Nobita’s Sky Utopia is the 42nd Doraemon anime movie. Takumi Douyama (Doraemon episode director and storyboarder, Genbanojou director) directed the film with Ryouta Kosawa (Great Pretender) as scriptwriter, Maiko Kobayashi (Wonder Egg Priority monster designer) as character designer, and Takayuki Hattori (Doraemon the Movie: Nobita’s Little Star Wars 2021) as music composer.

The cast includes Wasabi Mizuta as Doraemon, Megumi Oohara as Nobita, Yumi Kakazu as Shizuka, Subaru Kimura as Jaian, and Tomokazu Seki as Suneo.

The previous Doraemon film, Doraemon the Movie: Nobita’s Little Star Wars 2021, premiered in Japan in March 2022. The first Doraemon anime was a TV series that begin airing in 1973. The anime are based on or inspired by the Shogakukan-published 1969 manga by the late duo Fujiko F. Fujio.
