A third trailer has been released for the upcoming Konosuba: An Explosion on This Wonderful World! spin-off anime, which has been revealed to have an April 5 (effectively April 6 at 1AM JST) Japanese premiere date.
In addition to having more scenes of Megumin and her fellow Crimson Magic Clan members, the trailer previews the opening theme “STAY FREE” by Machico. “STAY FREE” was newly announced with the ending theme “JUMP IN,” which is performed by Rie Takahashi and Aki Toyosaki as their respective characters Megumin and Yunyun.
Konosuba: An Explosion on This Wonderful World! was originally a Kadokawa-published fantasy light novel series that ran from 2014 to 2015 with three volumes. A sequel series began in 2016 and released its second volume in 2019.
Like the main KonoSuba: God’s Blessing on This Wonderful World! isekai series, which ran from 2013 to 2020 with 17 main volumes and two short story anthologies, the spin-off is written by Natsume Akatsuki and illustrated by Kurone Mishima. The series and its sequel are published under the Kadokawa Sneaker Bunko label and have received manga adaptations by Kasumi Morino.

One year before a certain useless goddess and NEET extraordinaire hit the scene, Megumin, the “Greatest Genius of the Crimson Magic Clan,” is hard at work. Ever since a life-changing encounter in her youth, the young wizard has dedicated her every waking moment to the pursuit of the ultimate offensive magic, Explosion! The Konosuba: An Explosion on This Wonderful World! anime’s staff includes Yuujiro Abe (Kaguya-sama: Love Is War Season 1 and Season 2 episode director) as director and Kanasaki Takaomi (KonoSuba director) as chief supervisor. Reprising their roles from the main KonoSuba series’ first two seasons are:
• Kouichi Kikuta as character designer
• Makoto Uezu as series composer
• Saori Yoshida as color designer
• Masato Kouda as music composer.
Drive is producing the show instead of Konosuba Season 1 and 2’s Studio Deen or the KonoSuba: God’s Blessing on this Wonderful World Legend of Crimson movie’s J.C.STAFF.
The other cast members include Maria Nagamari as Komekko, Hitomi Nabatame as Chomusuke, Kaori Nazuka as Arue, Miyu Tomita as Funifura, Sayumi Suzushiro as Dodonko, and Shizuka Ishigami as Nerimaki.
The main KonoSuba anime series began in 2016. A third season, which also involves Abe, Takaomi, Kikuta, Uezu, and Drive, is in the works.
