Ize Press has announced that it has licensed the manhwa series Not-Sew-Wicked Stepmom, which will be released in print in August 2023. Iru is credited as the writer for the manhwa’s original story and Mo9Rang is the artist.

The series is a parody of the evil stepmother trope found in fairy tales and a fantasy reincarnation story. It was first serialized on the KakaoPage platform on April 10, 2021. It is also available on the Tapas website, where it has received over five million views. A total of 76 chapters, split into two “seasons,” have been released so far. The manhwa series entered a short hiatus in January 2023 in order for the creators to prepare for the third season.

Ize Press describes the story of Not-Sew-Wicked Stepmom as:

Once upon a time, there was a lovely young princess who suffered under her cruel stepmother…that is, until a children’s clothing designer is reborn as the evil queen! All Her Majesty, Abigail Friedkin, wants to do is dote on the adorable Princess Blanche and give her the happy childhood she deserves. The problem is, the previous Abigail has garnered a reputation for being extremely jealous and materialistic-and to top it off, her smile is the stuff of children’s nightmares! Will Abigail be able to convince her stepdaughter that she might not be so wicked after all?

Ize Press was first launched by publisher Yen Press in Fall 2022 in collaboration with REDICE STUDIO and RIVERSE. The imprint is focused on releasing print editions of popular digital Korean content like webtoon comics and novels.
