Seven Seas Entertainment Licenses Chi: On the Movements of the Earth, I Married My Female Friend, & More

Seven Seas Entertainment has announced that it has licensed four new manga series that will be released in English. The new releases include Chi: On the Movements of the Earth, I Married My Female Friend, Dungeon Friends Forever, and Breakfast with My Two-Tailed Cat. All titles will be released in the last quarter of 2023. 

Here are the full details for each of Seven Seas’ newest releases: 


Uoto’s Chi: On the Movements of the Earth (also known in Japanese as Chi: Chikyuu no Undou ni Tsuite) is an epic historical manga series that is inspiring an anime adaptation, produced by Madhouse. It was serialized in Shogakukan’s Weekly Big Comic Spirits from September 14, 2020 to April 18, 2022. Eight tankoubon volumes have been released in total. 

Volumes one and two will be released for the first time in North America in November 2023 as an oversized omnibus edition. The entire series will be released in four large-trim omnibuses.

Seven Seas describes the synopsis as: 

In the fifteenth century, claiming that the Earth revolves around the sun was a heresy that could get believers burned at the stake. Child prodigy Rafal is introduced to the truth about the universe by his mentor, and then must flee when the Inquisition comes to mete out “God’s justice.” With only a peculiar pendant to guide him, will Rafal discover his master’s research, and can he and other believers set the world alight?


Shio Usui’s I Married My Female Friend is a slice-of-life yuri manga from the creator of Doughnuts Under a Crescent Moon. It was first serialized in Ichijinsha’s Comic Yuri Hime on November 18, 2020 and has released three tankoubon volumes as of February 2023. 

The first volume will be released in North America in December 2023, with the series available in print and on digital platforms as single large-trim editions. The series will be released on Seven Seas’ GL label for Girls’ Love titles.

The manga is described by Seven Seas as: 

Kurumi and Ruriko made a deal: if they were both single in five years, they would marry each other. Five years later, neither woman is attached, so it’s time for a wedding! Marriage is full of firsts, especially for two friends, so they have a lot to learn about each other in their newly shared home. But will they continue this arrangement like two especially close roommates…or will a different kind of love bloom between them?


Dungeon Friends Forever is a fantasy manga series by Yasuhisa Kuma about a charming human adventurer and his childhood friend — the dragon girl boss of a dungeon. It was first launched in Media Factory’s Comic Alive magazine on January 27, 2022. Two tankoubon volumes have been released as of January 2023. 

Volume one will be released in October 2023, with the series available in print and on digital platforms as single volume editions.

Seven Seas describes the Dungeon Friends Forever manga as: 

Van and Ryuka the dragon girl have been friends since childhood. As adults, Van has become a dashing adventurer, and Ryuka has become the boss of a dangerous dungeon! Now Van has to beat up a bunch of Ryuka’s monster underlings every time he wants to bring her food, plan a game night with her, or just hang out. Fantasies come alive in this delightful rom-com about two friends on the verge of love and the monsters who ship them!


Seven Seas will also release Ai Shimizu’s slice-of-life manga Breakfast with My Two-Tailed Cat. Shimizu launched the manga on East Press’s Matogrosso and has released one tankoubon volume as of October 2022. 

The first volume will be released in North America in December 2023. The series will be available on both print and digital platforms as single volume editions.

The manga is described by Seven Seas as: 

When a widower tries to move on in the countryside after his wife dies, his solitary life is interrupted by a furry friend. His wife’s beloved pet cat has turned into a nekomata—a cat yokai. Now this friendly supernatural kitty is as tall as a human, has two tails, and can even talk! Together, they share a heartwarming slow life as they cook and eat tasty food surrounded by nature. Enjoy freshly baked bread, homemade jam, fluffy omelets, and seasonal vegetables with the members of this unusual and charming household!
