The Zom 100: Bucket List of the Dead anime’s Twitter account has revealed that Tomori Kusunoki is playing the role of main female character Shizuka Mikazuki. Character design visuals for Shizuka and protagonist Akira Tendo (Shuuichiro Umeda) were released as well.

Zom 100: Bucket List of the Dead is set to begin airing in Japan this July. Hulu will stream the show in the US.

The anime is based on the Shogakukan-published manga written by Haro Aso and drawn by Koutaro Takata. The series began in 2018 and has 13 tankoubon volumes as of February 17, 2023. It is serialized in Monthly Sunday GX.

Viz Media describes the plot as:

In a trash-filled apartment, 24-year-old Akira Tendo watches a zombie movie with lifeless, envious eyes. After spending three hard years at an exploitative corporation in Japan, his spirit is broken. He can’t even muster the courage to confess his feelings to his beautiful co-worker Ohtori. Then one morning, he stumbles upon his landlord eating lunch—which happens to be another tenant! The whole city’s swarming with zombies, and even though he’s running for his life, Akira has never felt more alive!

Zom 100: Bucket List of the Dead is directed by Kazuki Kawagoe (Komi Can’t Communicate) with Hanako Ueda (Summer Time Rendering ending 2 director et al.) as assistant director, Hiroshi Seko (Chainsaw Man) as series composer, Kii Tanaka (Pride of Orange) as character designer, Junpei Fukuchi (Summer Time Rendering chief animation director) as zombie designer, and Makoto Miyazaki (RPG Real Estate) as music composer. BUG FILMS is the animation production company.
