Edens Zero Season 2 Trailer Reveals Premiere Date, Previews New Foes


The first trailer for Edens Zero Season 2 has been released, providing a preview of the opening theme song “Never say Never” by Takanori Nishikawa and the new Element 4 enemies. An April 1 premiere date (effectively April 2 at 12:55 AM JST) was revealed as well.

The newly announced voice actors behind the Element 4 members include Taku Yashiro as Laguna, Rumi Ookubo as Sylph, Toshiki Masuda as Fie, and Atsushi Imaruoka as Daichi.

Edens Zero is an adaptation of the manga by Fairy Tail‘s Hiro Mashima, which began in 2018 and has 24 tankoubon volumes as of December 2022. The manga is serialized in Weekly Shonen Magazine and published under the Kodansha Comics label. A mobile game titled Edens Zero Pocket Galaxy was released in February 2022.

At Granbell Kingdom, an abandoned amusement park, Shiki has lived his entire life among machines. But one day, Rebecca and her cat companion Happy appear at the park’s front gates. Little do these newcomers know that this is the first human contact Granbell has had in a hundred years! As Shiki stumbles his way into making new friends, his former neighbors stir at an opportunity for a robo-rebellion … And when his old homeland becomes too dangerous, Shiki must join Rebecca and Happy on their spaceship and escape into the boundless cosmos.

The returning staff from Season 1 includes Shinji Ishihira as chief director, Mitsutaka Hirota as series composer, Yurika Sako as character designer, and Shunya Kikuchi as sub-character designer. Toshinori Watanabe (Teppen!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!: Laughing ’til You Cry) is replacing the late Yuji Suzuki as director. J.C.Staff is the animation production company.

Meanwhile, the returning cast includes Takuma Terashima as Shiki Granbell, Mikako Komatsu as Rebecca Bluegarden, and Rie Kugimiya as Happy, Hiromichi Tezuka as Weisz, Shiori Izawa as Pino, Shiki Aoki as Homura, Taiten Kusunoki as Drakken, and Honoka Inoue as Xiaomei.
