The upcoming anime movie adaptation of The Klutzy Witch has received a main visual featuring its various characters. The film is set to premiere in Japan on March 31.
The Klutzy Witch is based on the novel series written by Satoko Narita and illustrated by Enaga Senno, which follows the apprentice witch Fuka on her adventures. The anime film is meant to commemorate the novel series’ 15th anniversary.
The movie is directed by Takayuki Hamana (The Seven Deadly Sins: Cursed By Light, Arte) with Kiyoko Yoshimura (takt op.Destiny series composer and scriptwriter) as scriptwriter, Marumi Sugita (Selection Project chief animation director) as animation character designer, Aoi Takashi (Teppen!!!) and Kouji Okamoto (Our love has always been 10 centimeters apart) as art directors, Tatsumi Yukiwaki (Mazica Party) as photography director, and Shun Narita (When Will Ayumu Make His Move?) and Yasuyuki Yamazaki (Seirei Gensouki: Spirit Chronicles) as music composers. Production I.G is the animation production company.
Meanwhile, the cast includes Honoka Inoue as Fuka, Mutsumi Tamura as Chitose, Manaka Iwami as Karin, Kenshou Ono as Keith, and Ayane Sakura as Lilica.
The book series, which is published under the Poplar Pocket Bunko label, spans 18 volumes including a short story anthology. The first volume in the series was published in 2006, while the 18th volume was published in 2013. The Klutzy Witch was the winner of Poplar’s first Dream Smash! Taishou award.
