Yen Press has announced the license acquisition of Rose Guns Days Sorrowful Cross Knife — a prequel manga of the original Rose Guns Days manga. The original story for the manga is written by Higurashi When They Cry and Umineko When They Cry creator Ryuukishi07. Artist Tsuyoshi Takaki is handling the manga’s artwork.
The manga will be available digitally February 21, 2023, on platforms such as BOOKWALKER Global among others.

Sorrowful Cross Knife is a prequel manga that was launched in Square Enix’s Big Gangan magazine from December 25, 2012 to October 25, 2013. Two volumes have been released in total.
The original Rose Guns Days visual novel PC game was released as four parts between 2012 and 2013. The first game, Season 1, was released on August 11, 2012; Season 2 was released on December 31, 2012; Season 3 was released on August 10, 2013; and the fourth game, Last Season, was released on December 31, 2013.
The visual novel also inspired five other manga adaptations published by Kodansha and Square Enix.

1946, two years after the war ended in Japan. An orphan named Wayne has been hired by District 23’s Club Primavera-the base of operations for the brothel alliance vying for power with foreign militaries and the mafia. When a series of murders strike fear and rage in the people of District 23, the prime suspect is none other than Jack, the orphan boy Wayne sees as his brother.
