Record of Ragnarok II Releases Second Main Trailer Ahead of Premiere

Netflix has released a second main trailer for the upcoming Record of Ragnarok II anime series on the Netflix Anime YouTube channel. The new trailer has English subtitles and previews more action-packed battles between real-life historical figures and mythical beings. Netflix will stream the first part of the second season on January 26, 2023. Part two, containing episodes 11-15, will be released sometime later in 2023. 

The production staff of Record of Ragnarok II consists of Masao Ookubo (Record of Ragnarok season one), Kazuyuki Fudeyasu (Do It Yourself!!) and Yuka Yamada (Tokyo Mew Mew New) as screenwriters, Masaki Satou (Initial D Final Stage) as character designer, Yasunori Ebina (Uzaki-chan Wants to Hang Out! season two) and Yasuharu Takahashi (Reincarnated as a Sword) as music composer. Graphinica is handling the animation production for the second season. 

Many of the voice actors from season one are returning for season two, including Miyuki Sawashiro as Brunhild, Tomoyo Kurosawa as Göll, Tomokazu Sugita as Jack the Ripper, Katsuyuki Konishi as Hercules, Subaru Kimura as Raiden Tameemon, Yuuichi Nakamura as Shaka, and Tatsuhisa Suzuki as Shiva.    

The original manga is written by Shinya Umemura and Takumi Fukui and illustrated by Ajichika. It has been serialized in Coamix’s Monthly Comic Zenon magazine since November 25, 2017. Seventeen tankoubon volumes have been released as of December 2022.

Viz Media releases the original manga series in English and describes the first volume of as: 

The valkyrie Brunhilde has convinced the gods to give humanity a chance at redemption through combat in the Valhalla arena. Seeking a quick end to the proceedings, the gods present their first fighter, Thor, the Norse god of thunder. Facing him is a warrior said to be the strongest in the history of mankind, the legendary general Lü Bu!
