A TV anime adaptation of Eku Takeshima‘s Whisper Me a Love Song yuri manga has been announced with illustrations from character designer Minami Yoshida (Manaria Friends) and Takeshima.

Xinya Cai (The Genius Prince’s Guide to Raising a Nation Out of Debt assistant director) is directing Whisper Me a Love Song with Hiroki Uchida (Requiem of the Rose King) as series composer. CLOUDHEARTS is producing the anime with supervision from Yokohama Animation Lab.

Meanwhile, the main cast include Hana Shimano as Himari Kino and Asami Seto as Yori Asanagi.

The Ichijinsha-published manga began serialization in Comic Yuri Hime in 2019 and will release its seventh tankoubon volume on January 18 this year. Kodansha USA describes the plot as:

Bubbly, energetic first-year high school student Himari falls head over heels for her senpai Yori after hearing her band perform on the first day of school. Himari tells Yori she just loves her, and, to Himari’s surprise, Yori says she loves Himari back! But when Himari realizes that she and her senpai are feeling two different kinds of love, she begins to ask herself what “love” really means…

Melvyn originally wanted to write about video games, and he did so for a few years, starting from his college days. He still writes about video games sometimes, but now focuses on anime-related news content and the occasional review. Some of his free time is spent self-learning Japanese, both out of interest in the language and because English-translated light novels and manga are expensive. Every anime season, Melvyn looks forward to discovering new standout episodes and OP/ED animation sequences, as well as learning about the storyboard artists and directors behind them.
