REVENGER Original Soundtrack Slated to Release on February 22

The original soundtrack for the TV anime REVENGER will be released on February 22. The original anime is currently airing as part of the Winter 2023 anime season.

The music for REVENGER is composed by singer and musician Jun Futamata in her anime series debut. The album consists of 24 songs that are described as combining “Futamata’s music with multinational ethnic instruments such as the shamisen, koto, bansuri, sitar, ondomo, and strings to form a chaotic harmony that expresses the bewitching, beautiful, and alluring lives of the REVENGERs.”

Crunchyroll is streaming REVENGER and describes the anime as: 

As master assassin Usui Yuen looks into a series of assassinations made on the grand samurai clan, the Satsuma, he encounters Kurima Raizo, member and survivor of one of the attacks. Together, they discover the true nature of these murders is bigger than over stolen resources. As they get closer to the truth, will they come out alive to exact revenge?

The show is directed by Masaya Fujimori (Kemono Jihen) with Shinpei Matsuo (Kemono Jihen assistant director) as assistant director, Nitroplus’ Gen Urobuchi (Psycho-Pass) as series composer and scriptwriter, Nitroplus’ Renji Ooki (Bubble) as co-scriptwriter, Yuuji Hosogoe (Saga of Tanya the Evil) as character designer, and Nozomi Tachibana (Kemono Jihen character designer) as sub-character designer. Urobuchi is also credited with the original story concept.

Manga artist and illustrator Jirou Suzuki is credited as one of the original character designers, while Ajia-do Animation Works is the animation production studio. 

Meanwhile, the cast includes Jun Kasama as Raizo Kurima, Yuuichirou Umehara as Yuen Usui, Shunsuke Takeuchi as Teppa Murakami, Shouta Hayama as Soji, and Hisako Kanemoto as Nio.
