Giant Beasts of Ars Reveals New Key Visual & Additional Cast

A new key visual has been released for the upcoming original anime series Giant Beasts of Ars, which will premiere on January 6, 2023 and run for 12 episodes.  

The anime production team also revealed additional cast members that will be joining the series. They include Akeno Watanabe as Kuumi Katsu, Takahiro Shimada as Baban, Mai Nakahara as Baban’s wife, Masaaki Mizunaka as Klunes, Motomu Kiyokawa as Gouza, Kenji Nomura as Guun, and Kanato Watai as Kiris. 

They join a main voice cast that includes Hina Youmiya as Kumi, Toshiyuki Morikawa as Jiro, Yuu Serizawa as Mia, Hiromu Mineta as Meran, and Youko Hikasa as Romana. Other voice cast members include Asami Seto as Tsurugi, Wakana Kuramochi as Shalt, Ryouta Takeuchi as Fazade, Mayu Aoyagi as Toka, Kenichi Ogata as Zen, Atsushi Tamaru as Mezami, and Takayuki Sugou as Bakura.

Akira Oguro (Namuamida Butsu! Rendai Utena, Final Fantasy Legends: Hikari to Yami no Senshi and Yuusha Shirei Dagwon character designer) is directing Giant Beasts of Ars, with Norimitsu Kaihou (Akudama Drive co-series composer) as series screenwriter and scriptwriter, Illustrator Ashito Ooyari as original character designer, and Hiroshi Shimizu (Megalo Box) and Masato Katou (Peach Boy Riverside co-character designer) as character designers. Shuuji Katayama and Akinari Suzuki are composing the music. Asahi Production is handling the animation production.

HIDIVE is streaming the anime series as one of its first co-productions with DMM and describes the story as:

The great beasts created the land, but humans stole it. Angered, the beasts began eating humans, who in turn called upon the gods to fight the beasts. In the age of the sword, heroes and mythology, giant beasts are hunted by humans for profit. Jiro, who makes his living hunting beasts, encounters Kuumi, who is being chased by someone, and in that moment decides to save her. As rumors spread regarding humanity and a mysterious experiment, together they seek to discover the world’s secrets.
